Jhalana Leopard Safari Jaipur

Located in the heart of Jaipur, Jhalana Leopard Safari Park is a hidden gem for wildlife enthusiasts and a must-visit destination for those seeking an offbeat experience. One of Jhalana’s key advantages is its proximity to Jaipur’s city centre, making it easily accessible for tourists. Located just 15 km from Jaipur Airport, it is a perfect addition to cultural tours of the Pink City. Whether you’re visiting Jaipur for its palaces or festivals, the Jhalana Leopard Safari adds a wild twist to your itinerary.

Spread across 23 square kilometres, this urban conservation reserve is renowned for its high density of leopards, offering rare and thrilling sightings often in broad daylight—a phenomenon uncommon elsewhere.  Jhalana, which covers an area of  23 sq km, is home to 30 leopards, 8-10 of which have territories in the park's tourist section. Jhalana is rapidly turning into the go-to spot to see leopards in the wild because it is located right in the centre of Jaipur city and is closer to the airport. If you want to see these elusive spotted cats roaming freely, then book a Jhalana Leopard Safari in Jaipur with Tigerwalah!

While leopards are the star attraction, Jhalana is home to a variety of wildlife. Visitors can spot Indian civets, desert foxes, hyenas, and jungle cats among other mammals. The reserve also boasts rich birdlife, including peacocks, Indian pittas, and a variety of eagles, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. Jhalana’s combination of dry deciduous forests, grasslands, and rocky terrain creates an ideal habitat for its diverse fauna.

Jhalana offers two safari slots daily, in the morning and evening. Visitors explore the reserve in open jeeps, guided by experienced naturalists who ensure not only wildlife sightings but also an understanding of the ecosystem. With multiple leopards present in tourism area including cubs, the chances of spotting these elusive big cats are exceptionally high. The safari takes you through scenic landscapes, from ancient Aravalli hills to dense forest trails, providing stunning photography opportunities.

Jhalana leopard safari Jaipur has been operational since December 2016, and as of now, two safari routes are open for visitors. Special Note!

Jhalana Leopard Conservancy is open throughout the year for visitors. This is good news for wildlife lovers who find it difficult to bear the mandatory closure of National Parks and tiger reserves between July and September each year. The duration of each safari is 2.30 hours, and only a limited number of vehicles are allowed on each track.

So even if you are visiting Jaipur for work/leisure and are unable to visit the famous two tiger reserves nearby- the Jhalana safari is your wilderness getaway. Contact us to book a leopard safari, and we will take care of the rest.
